Today was finally beautiful, sunny, and hot! It's a rarity these days. We packed up the cars, met up with Emma and Jane (Lauren & Emma's mom) and headed to Woolacombe Beach in North Devon. It's about an hours drive, but well worth it. The beach is miles long with beautiful hills/cliffs surrounding the land side of it.

We spent the afternoon basking in the sun and playing with Olivia. It had been Olivia's first time at the beach since last summer and she was very apprehensive of the sand! It took her awhile to brave it and step onto it. Once she did there wa sno slowing her down. She had a great time.

At one point, Keith, Dale, and I had her in the ocean soaking up the Atlantic. We thought the water would be freezing, but were quite surprised. I haven't been in the ocean in years but from what I remember, this water was warmer now in July (with few warm days to have warmed it), than our water in Ingonish is in August after a summer of hot weather. Dad tells me it's probably due to the Gulf Stream. It was a pleasant surprise anyway.

Jack slept most of the time and seemed to love the warmth of the day laying in his diaper in the shade.

Isn't he just the cutest!!!

That evening we picked up a feast of Rainbow Trout, scallops, and prawns and the boys made us a dinner fit for royalty.
