Flora Day

Today is Flora Day in Helston. For a description on Flora Day see my blog from a year ago. As we saw the dances last year we decided to have a lazy morning in bed then we headed into town to meet everyone around 1pm. The guys get the day off as do many of the Helston vendors. Keith and the crew also have tomorrow off. Lucky bunch!

The streets were very busy with people, vendors and food stands. They close the 'high street' (main street in a town where all the shops are) off so its only pedestrian access. One thing that is interesting is you buy a drink in one of the pubs then you go out and enjoy it in the street in the sunshine. We hung out for a few hours and had a drink with our friends that were out. Once the rain decided to come and it was time to make our way inside one of the pubs Keith and I decided to bail out. The pubs were insanely packed! We walked around and checked out everything that was on sale than headed back home. We were soaked by the time we got here.

We watched 'The Recruit' then Speedy and Rach came over for the evening and we ordered takeout and chatted.
