I am now officially what the English call 'a lady of leisure'. Which is a really nice way to put 'unemployed'! However the week has been less than leisurely. I started my to do list and it may take me awhile to finish it! Mostly admin stuff to do including booking my travel to London for my trip home, travel back with my cousin on my return, our trip to London on her return home, buying luggage and an external hard drive, and so many other things. It sounds easy enough but I take forever to book accommodation and make travel plans. I have to carefully plan it all out and research the places to stay and find the best deal. So a quick task for someone is a days work for me!
I did buy some luggage on Tuesday at Tesco. I finally found a large piece that was half decently priced and good quality (I hope!). I had been looking for awhile but as I mentioned previously, there is little choice in Cornwall so it can be tough finding something you need. I do a lot of online shopping now!
We've determined our Mac needs a memory upgrade so I contacted the guy I dealt with at my work and he gave me the info I need on what to buy and is going to install the RAM for me next week for free! One of the times online shopping comes in handy.
The Canadian Detachment in London has offered the CF spouses a year of free online language training. I immediately signed up! It's the Rosetta Stone language center which is quite well known. My aim is to learn some French. I've noticed that the year subscription allows you to learn a variety of languages, depending on how long it takes you to learn one language you can move onto another and another until the year is up. So after French maybe Spanish? German? Swahili!
Today I went into Trago and bought 2 canvases, paint and some paint brushes as I'm going to paint some kind of bizarre creation to hang in our livingroom. I never finished the livingroom the way I wanted to and it's a bit drab and needs some colour. I figure 'll add some red and spruce it up. It ended up being an expensive trip as I got a damn parking ticket! The equivalent of $60! Ouch!
